Highland Hospital Gala!

Róisín Dubh will - along with The Dady Brothers - be the featured entertainment at Highland Hospital's Annual Gala, which this year raises money for the Oncology Department, and honors Mayor Tom Richards.

What's in a Name?

Róisín = "ro-sheen" = rose

Dubh = "dove" = black

Trad = Irish (& Scottish) traditional music

For more than a decade, this program was known as Celtic Music Society. We've always needed a better name.

When the English were in power and it was forbidden to sing Ireland’s praises, a love song with political undertones was written. Today this song's metaphor is still sometimes used, when Ireland is referred to by the name of The Black Rose. In Gaelic, Róisín Dubh.
